DYNAMIC CHARACTERIZATION: MAGICAL DRESS

Unfortunately today was the last day of my Dynamic Characterization class with Mark McDonnell. I absolutely loved this class and will most certainly take it again. The assignment was to add some sort of magical element to the model's dress. Here are several of the drawings I did tonight. They were all three minute poses.

BASEBALL

I've never really been big on sports no matter how hard I tried to convince myself that as a man I should be. But I've always had a fondness for baseball. Perhaps it's because I played little league as a kid or memories of going to Dodger games with my Dad. Prior to the character design assignment I mentioned in a previous post, I studied a lot of baseball poses. Here are some of the results.

I've been in taking Character Design at the Animation Institute with Stephen Silver for several weeks now and it's been absolutely wonderful. Unfortunately we're heading into the last few weeks. CTN Gesture Drawing After Dark

And so ends my first year at CTN. It was well worth the time (and the money.) I attended David Pimentel's Gesture Drawing After Dark session on the first night. We all did quite a few in the time we had. They ranged from one minute to five minute poses.

DMV Sketch

One of the nice things about being stuck at the DMV is having plenty of people around to sketch. Works for me seeing as how I've always struggled with drawing people from the backside.
