I'm gonna have to store all of these drawings somewhere. Why not the internet? All original artwork and content is copyright Greg Jones Jr. 2014 unless otherwise noted. With that said, have a look!

GOLIATH
Have I mentioned Gargoyles is my favorite show of all time? Because Gargoyles is my favorite show of all time.
GARR (BREATH OF FIRE III)
I always loved Tatsuya Yoshikawa's work from Breath of Fire III. I use to try to copy the designs from the manual back in high school. So I thought I'd try my hand at it now.

HIND LEGS AND HOOVES
Mark McDonnell (Yeah, I know I talk about this guy a lot but he's awesome so it's okay!) frequently suggests spending at least an hour or so a day drawing something you struggle with over the course of about a month. I've found that among many things I have a hard time drawing hind legs and hooves. So expect to see a lot more of these overtime.

CHARACTER DESIGN ASSIGNMENT: DIBBS
...and then there was Dibbs. He's the wild card of the group. His full name is Weldon Dibble. He was one of the first characters I came up with and admittedly the one I had the most fun with. He's basically combination of a friend of mine who's been like a brother to me since Jr. High, Alex Weldon (hopefully we'll still be friends after he sees this) and Danny DiVito. His last name also happens to come from another good friend of mine who is a fellow artist/animator, Ian Dibble.
CHARACTER DESIGN ASSIGNMENT: KENDRICKS
As mentioned in a previous post, in my Dynamic Characterization class our awesome instructor Mark McDonnell gave us the task of designing five bears or five badgers with various shapes and sizes. I apparently missed the part where he mentioned we were suppose to do it in a style similar to Kung-Fu Panda, but he approved of them anyway :) Here's the first. His full name is Jackie Kendricks and he's the founder of the school baseball club. He has a way of seeing hidden potential in just about anybody. His last name comes from a good friend of mine named Michael Kendricks (Who happens to be an awesome writer by the way!)

BASEBALL
I've never really been big on sports no matter how hard I tried to convince myself that as a man I should be. But I've always had a fondness for baseball. Perhaps it's because I played little league as a kid or memories of going to Dodger games with my Dad. Prior to the character design assignment I mentioned in a previous post, I studied a lot of baseball poses. Here are some of the results.

Bad Badger Girl
Mark McDonnell gave us an interesting assignment in his Dynamic Characterization class the other day. We were to turn the model into a badger or a bear. We also had to change her proportion. I chose badger only because it had occurred to me that I don't think I had ever had to draw one before. These are some of the results. It was a lot of fun.

Game Inspired Art
I love the artwork in NES instruction manuals. I always pictured this guy as my own little 8-Bit Hero. Also, who needs a horse when you can have a dragon!
